Aspirin helps prevent cancer
Aspirin reduces the risk of developing pancreatic cancer.

New research has shown that people who take aspirin to reduce pain, pancreatic cancer occurs much less frequently than those who use other painkillers.A similar positive relationship was found between everyday intake of small doses of aspirin for prevention of heart disease and cancer risk.

American study shows that regular use of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) about those or other pain associated with a significant reduction in the likelihood of pancreatic cancer.

possible that aspirin is useful not only as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug.In the new study shows that people who take aspirin to reduce pain (eg, headache or joint pain), pancreatic cancer occurs much less frequently than those using other painkillers.A similar positive relationship was found between everyday intake of small doses of aspirin for prevention of heart disease and cancer risk.

The study was conducted by scientific staff of the Medical College of the Mayo Cli

nic (Rochester, USA).Scientists compared the effects on the development of pancreatic cancer three most common types of pain medication: aspirin, acetaminophen (paracetamol) and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).The work took 904 patients participated diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and nearly 1,200 healthy volunteers. All of them have taken certain painkillers.

After accounting for these risk factors for pancreatic cancer as overweight and smoking, it was found that taking aspirin at least once a month reduces the likelihood of cancer by 29%.Other NSAIDs and paracetamol such positive action is not provided.

However, scientists warn that the study of useful effects of aspirin is just beginning, and the drug may be appropriate not all people. Therefore the question of taking this medication should be taken in conjunction with the doctor because aspirin has some serious side effects (eg, bleeding and ulceration of the mucous membrane of the stomach), said lead researcher Dr. Ksyan-Lin Tan (Xiang-LinTan).

results of their work, scientists reported on the 102 Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Association for the Study of malignant neoplasms, which was held in Orlando (Florida, USA).
